Educator for a Day

Educator for a Day is a program of the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools and Billings Partners in Education.  Business, community, and government leaders are invited into elementary, middle, and high schools to meet staff, visit classrooms, and learn first hand what it takes to run a school in the 21st Century.  Altana is proud to partner with this program and has employees that currently participate.

Flakesgiving

Flakesgiving is one of the largest food drives in Montana. The annual event is sponsored by local DJs, “The Breakfast Flakes” from Cat Country. Each year volunteers work together to provide Thanksgiving dinners for 1,500 families in the Billings area.

Altana and CUsource employees raised over $1,500 in donations! In addition to the employees’ efforts, Altana FCU donated an additional $500. This provided meals for 100 families and several employees helped to package and deliver the meals.

Relay for Life

Altana FCU Relay 2009

The employees of Altana actively support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Throughout the year we hold fundraising events to raise money for this great cause. With the support of the community and staff members, we were able to raise $17,636.

Pack the Place in Pink

Altana FCU Relay 2009

The employees of Altana support breast cancer awareness month by wearing pink t-shirts. Pack the Place in Pink began in 2008, energized by Skyview High School volleyball team’s determination to support breast cancer awareness and their coach, a breast cancer survivor.

Tours

We welcome schools and civic groups for a guided tour of our facilities.  Please contact your local branch to set up a time.

Wish Tutoring

Several Altana employees are involved in the WISH Tutoring program. They visit a local school several times a week and read with children.

Employee Adopt-A-Family

Adopt A Family

Each year, Altana decorates their lobby Christmas Trees with paper stars from local community relief organizations.  Each star has the name of a deserving child and their holiday wish list on it. Members and staff were invited to choose a star from the tree and shop for them. Altana’s employee fund was used to shop for the remaining stars left on the tree.

Dora Maxwell Awards

This award is presented to Credit Unions and Chapters across the Nation in recognition of their outstanding social responsibility. This year we were honored to be a part of two first place awards.

Altana received the award for its hard work and dedication during the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The Midland Empire Chapter of Credit Unions also received the award for an educational program in which we participated.
