Changes to Courtesy Pay
Opt-in is the best option...to ensure your transactions are covered.
Recent legislation requires you to opt-in
for Courtesy Pay.
Currently, we may approve/authorize
transactions as a convenience to members even if the items in
question are more than the available balance a member has in their
account at the time. If items are paid, we may charge a fee.
You must opt-in to continue Courtesy Pay
coverage which is generally available on all Altana checking
accounts.*
Once you receive your letter, you must sign up to keep this valuable
benefit. It only takes a minute or two to preserve the peace
of mind that Courtesy Pay can provide.

Frequently Asked Questions
I received my letter in the mail. Now what?
You will need to opt-in by clicking here, by calling 877-REG-OPT1 (734-6781), or visiting your local branch.
If I choose to continue Courtesy Pay,
what does this mean?
It means you give Altana permission to
pay transactions in excess of your available balance. If paid,
a fee of $32.00 per item may be assessed.
What if I do not continue coverage?
If you do not take action, your coverage
will discontinue as of August 15, 2010. This means that any
transaction that would result in an overdraft of your account will
be declined or returned as an NSF, and you will be charged a $32
return check fee.
How long do I have to decide to
continue Courtesy Pay?
The federal regulation goes into effect
on August 15, 2010. On or after that date you are no longer
covered unless you opt-in to continue Courtesy Pay coverage.
You can opt-in at any time, and you can opt-out of this service in
the future, should you change your mind.
What happens if I miss the deadline?
Those members who do not choose to
continue coverage by August 15, 2010 will no longer have Courtesy
Pay. You can
continue courtesy pay coverage now.
Is completing the online registration
the only way I can continue coverage?
No. Altana members can also call
877-REG-OPT1 (734-6781) or visit their local branch to continue
coverage.
Is anyone exempt from making a choice
regarding Courtesy Pay?
All checking
accounts are impacted by this new regulation. Members must
opt-in to continue Courtesy Pay or they will no longer be covered.
Does Courtesy Pay apply to Altana
members only?
No. Every financial institution
client is affected by the new Federal Regulation.
Is there a fee to continue Courtesy
Pay?
No. There is no fee to continue
this service; however if you continue Courtesy Pay and an item is
paid resulting in an overdraft of your account, a fee of $32 may be
assessed.
What fees will I incur if Altana
covers my overdraft?
You may incur a fee of $32 each time an
overdraft is covered on your account. You need to qualify for
Courtesy Pay, up to $1000.
How many times can I incur a fee in
the same day?
There is no limit on the number of fees
you can incur per day on your account. It just depends on the
number of items that overdraft your account.
Can I change my decision to continue
this service?
Yes. You can change your decision
to have Courtesy Pay at any time.
